Book Review and Giveaway!!!

I have recently hooked up with Hachette Book Group to do reviews and giveaways of some of their newly released books! I just completed the book Miracles by Karen Kingsbury:

Miracles, by Karen Kingsbury, is a book filled with true miraculous stories of God's healing and protection. It is meant to be read as a devotional, with one story per week, and a passage of Scripture that can be read along with it.
From the beginning, I was both excited and skeptical about this book. Excited, because I have always loved Karen Kingsbury's writing style in her amazing Christian fiction novels, but skeptical, as I have never read a non-fiction work by Kingsbury.
I should not have been skeptical...the same eloquent, expressive style that made me love Karen Kingsbury's fiction novels, also drew me to the stories in this book. However, more than her writing style, the reminders of the awesome works of God in these true stories gripped me as I read these stories. Chapter after chapter of God working miracles in believers' lives did a work in my heart...reminding me that the God we serve is constantly working His perfect will in our lives!
My only "complaint" about this book is that it was sold as a "devotional." My personal opinion would be that this does not have the "feel" of a devotional. It certainly was a faith-building book for me, and I think any believer would enjoy reading this to be reminded of what an amazing God we serve who is still at work accomplishing miracles in our lives!

I am so excited that Hachette Book Group has offered to give away a copy of this book to five of my readers!

To win a copy of this book, simply leave a comment below letting us know what your favorite "Thanksgiving Day food" is. I will pick five winners at random at the end of this giveaway (Saturday, 11/21 at 10:00pm). Good luck!!

Want to win an extra entry? Simply post about this giveaway on Facebook, Twitter or your blog and let me know about it in a separate comment below...

  14. I love sweet potatoes baked in skins, then with just real butter, it brings out a delicious flavor, and is healthy. Yet there is nothing like the tradition and smells of the whole meal with together. God is Good!

  18. Thanks for posting your review about this book. It sounds encouraging!

Pumpkin pie is my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal, but the mashed potatoes are just a hair below the pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving would be lost without both of them!!!
