Book Giveaway - 5 Winners!!

I have recently hooked up with Hachette Book Group to do reviews and giveaways of some of their newly released books! This book, Loved, by Rebecca St. James is the first of these:
Loved by Rebecca St. James is a very unique book filled with true stories of prodigals. She divides the book into groups of stories based around a general theme. Each of these groups begins with a story of a prodigal from the Bible.

I really enjoyed this book. From the cover (isn't it beautiful?!) to the stories...it was a very encouraging book to read. It reminded me over and over again of the amazing love and forgiveness of our God! It not only challenged me in my view of God, but it also challenged me in my love for others around me. My favorite part of the book are the chapters that give the stories of Biblical prodigals. They really make those familiar Bible characters come to life!

The book does seem repetitive somewhat. I think that comes from "grouping" the stories into themes. Also, I feel that sometimes too many details from these true stories are mentioned...that is of course my personal opinion, but I felt there was a little TMI (too much information) in some of the stories.

Overall, I would recommend this book as a great read that will remind you of the never-ending love of our Heavenly Father.

I am so excited that Hachette Book Group has offered to give away a copy of this book to five of my readers!

To win a copy of this book, simply leave a comment below letting us know what the two most influential books are that you have ever read. I will pick five winners at random at the end of this giveaway (Friday, 10/9 at 10:00pm). Good luck!!

Want to win an extra entry? Simply post about this giveaway on Facebook, Twitter or your blog and let me know where in a separate comment...

  1. Well, aside from the Bible, I would have to say The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman and A Woman after God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. There are MANY others, but these are always at the top of my list. :)

  8. I'd love to enter as well. Thank you!

Picking only two books is hard, but I think I'd have to say "Living the Cross Centered Life" by C.J. Mahaney, and "Discipline: The Glad Surrender" by Elisabeth Elliot. Although I think two books I'm reading right now are going to give them a run for their money =)"Adopted for Life" by Russell Moore, and "Total Church" by Tim Chester. =)

  10. I'm going to skip the 2 most influential ever (after Scripture, that would be The Cross Centered Life & Don't Waste Your Life) and say the two most recent: The Prodigal God by Tim Keller & Because He Loves Me by Elyse Fitzpatrick (this book was very different from her previous writings in my opinion)
