I am firmly convinced that every Walmart store has a different version of the "official Walmart coupon policy." I have talked to various Walmart employees, and have even gotten a response from the Corporate office about their new "store coupon matching policy." I wish that I could give you a "for sure" policy about this, but from what I can tell, you will have to check with your individual store for that.
One thing I can tell you is that the Green Bay, WI Walmart (on Mason St.) will take the Register Rewards from Walgreens! I was there this weekend, and had a few Register Rewards that were about to expire. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try, so I asked the guy if they would take these as "competitor store coupons." He called his manager over, and she said "Definitely - it says Manufacturers coupon on it." Then, when he swiped the coupon, it went through without even beeping!
I haven't tried this yet at our Iron Mountain, MI store, but I will let you know when I do....:)
