I have recently hooked up with Hachette Book Group to do reviews and giveaways of some of their newly released books! This book, Loved, by Rebecca St. James is the first of these:
Loved by Rebecca St. James is a very unique book filled with true stories of prodigals. She divides the book into groups of stories based around a general theme. Each of these groups begins with a story of a prodigal from the Bible.
I really enjoyed this book. From the cover (isn't it beautiful?!) to the stories...it was a very encouraging book to read. It reminded me over and over again of the amazing love and forgiveness of our God! It not only challenged me in my view of God, but it also challenged me in my love for others around me. My favorite part of the book are the chapters that give the stories of Biblical prodigals. They really make those familiar Bible characters come to life!
The book does seem repetitive somewhat. I think that comes from "grouping" the stories into themes. Also, I feel that sometimes too many details from these true stories are mentioned...that is of course my personal opinion, but I felt there was a little TMI (too much information) in some of the stories.
Overall, I would recommend this book as a great read that will remind you of the never-ending love of our Heavenly Father.
I am so excited that Hachette Book Group has offered to give away a copy of this book to five of my readers!
To win a copy of this book, simply leave a comment below letting us know what the two most influential books are that you have ever read. I will pick five winners at random at the end of this giveaway (Friday, 10/9 at 10:00pm). Good luck!!
Want to win an extra entry? Simply post about this giveaway on Facebook, Twitter or your blog and let me know where in a separate comment...

Well, aside from the Bible, I would have to say The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman and A Woman after God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. There are MANY others, but these are always at the top of my list. :)
This giveaway is now my Facebook status! Does being your friend count for an extra entry? :)
Hi, Trisha! Two of my favorite books have been Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahanney and Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges.
What a fun giveaway, friend! Two books that have been very influential for me lately (can't narrow it down to 2 overall!!) are Teach them Diligently by Lou Priolo and Respectable Sins, Confronting the Sins We Tolerate by Jerry Bridges. Both changed my life.
I posted this on facebook! Thanks for the "extra point!" -Jessica
Hey, Trish. Two of my favorite books of all time are "Evidence not Seen" by Darlene Diabler Rose and "Forever Young" compiled by Voice of the Martyrs.
Trisha, These are two of my favorites....A Woman after God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George
The Blessing by Gary Smalley among many others.

I'd love to enter as well. Thank you!
Picking only two books is hard, but I think I'd have to say "Living the Cross Centered Life" by C.J. Mahaney, and "Discipline: The Glad Surrender" by Elisabeth Elliot. Although I think two books I'm reading right now are going to give them a run for their money =)"Adopted for Life" by Russell Moore, and "Total Church" by Tim Chester. =)
The two most influential books in my life to date are the Bible, and the devotional "Streams in the Desert".
Thanks for the giveaway!
I'm going to skip the 2 most influential ever (after Scripture, that would be The Cross Centered Life & Don't Waste Your Life) and say the two most recent: The Prodigal God by Tim Keller & Because He Loves Me by Elyse Fitzpatrick (this book was very different from her previous writings in my opinion)
A Woman after God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George and What Do I Know About My God by Mardi Collier
This is fun! :) I'd say (like others I see)..A Woman After God's Own Heart.....and.....More Precious Than Gold.
The two most influential for me (besides the Bible) are "Shepherding A Child's Heart" (by Tedd Tripp) and "Love and Respect" (by Emerson Eggerichs).
Can I choose three?
Having a Mary Spirit- Joanna Weaver
Seeing with New Eyes- David Prowlison
Unpacking Forgiveness- Chris Brauns
Chelley
Desiring God by John Piper
Dare to Discipline, by Dobson
I love reading though so picking two is very difficult!!
Only two books! It's hard to narrow it down!
I'd have to say, "Lord, Change Me" by Evelyn Christenson, and "Your God is too Safe" by Mark Buchanan.
Thanks for the great giveaway!

Wow...I have so many favorites. Ummm, probably "Set Apart Femininity" by Leslie Ludy (just finished last week) and the most life-changing book I have ever read is "The Gospel Primer" by Milton Vincent. EVERYONE needs to read that one! I love your blog Trisha. Thanks for all the great posts.
Kellie
Created to be his helpmeet by Debi Pearl and Trusting God by Jerry Bridges
Ummm...
Safely Home by Randy Alcorn (yes, fiction, but it greatly impacted my life)
Lies Women Believe by Nancy Leigh DeMoss
Tough to choose just two!
I love the book, "Calm My Anxious Heart" by Linda Dillow and "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. Thanks to my great friend LaTrish :)
Right now my two most influential books have been, "Don't Make Me Count to Three!" and "Created To Be His Helpmeet".
The two most influential books that I have read are The BIble and Chicken Soup for the Soul. I can always find comfort within the pages of these powerful books
Thank you,
Theresa Hoff
