I have recently hooked up with Hachette Book Group to do reviews and giveaways of some of their newly released books! I just completed the book Miracles by Karen Kingsbury:
Miracles, by Karen Kingsbury, is a book filled with true miraculous stories of God's healing and protection. It is meant to be read as a devotional, with one story per week, and a passage of Scripture that can be read along with it.
From the beginning, I was both excited and skeptical about this book. Excited, because I have always loved Karen Kingsbury's writing style in her amazing Christian fiction novels, but skeptical, as I have never read a non-fiction work by Kingsbury.
I should not have been skeptical...the same eloquent, expressive style that made me love Karen Kingsbury's fiction novels, also drew me to the stories in this book. However, more than her writing style, the reminders of the awesome works of God in these true stories gripped me as I read these stories. Chapter after chapter of God working miracles in believers' lives did a work in my heart...reminding me that the God we serve is constantly working His perfect will in our lives!
My only "complaint" about this book is that it was sold as a "devotional." My personal opinion would be that this does not have the "feel" of a devotional. It certainly was a faith-building book for me, and I think any believer would enjoy reading this to be reminded of what an amazing God we serve who is still at work accomplishing miracles in our lives!
I am so excited that Hachette Book Group has offered to give away a copy of this book to five of my readers!
To win a copy of this book, simply leave a comment below letting us know what your favorite "Thanksgiving Day food" is. I will pick five winners at random at the end of this giveaway (Saturday, 11/21 at 10:00pm). Good luck!!

I love the parker-house yeast rolls, covered in butter of course. It's the only time of year I indulge in "a few" and don't feel too guilty. I can almost smell them cooking now! Yumm-o!!!!

I can already hear the wonderful dinner rolls calling my name :)
Macaroni and Cheese please!

My favorite thing (other than the turkey, of course) has become the green bean casserole ... the strange thing is that I don't really care for green beans ... must just be all the bad for you stuff like cream of mushroom soup and velveeta cheese ... mmmmmmmmm!!!

It's the only time of the year I make sweet potato casserole since I'm the only one that likes it!
It's all good, but expecially the stuffing since I hardly ever have it except at Thanksgiving!!
My favorite is the desserts! We have a big family reunion, and everyone brings desserts to share. I like trying just a little of everything, and getting recipes as well.
My favorite Thanksgiving food is sweet potato casserole...we make it w/ some marshmallow cream mixed in. Yummy!!!
Oh my - my sister's pumpkin pie! Absolutely my favorite food at Thanksgiving. Yum!
Apple pie is my favorite part...although a plate loaded with turkey and all of the traditional fixings is certainly a happy thing...!
Sweet potato casserole just can't be beat!
Ummmm...that's a tough question...but I do like mashed potatoes. :)

I love sweet potatoes baked in skins, then with just real butter, it brings out a delicious flavor, and is healthy. Yet there is nothing like the tradition and smells of the whole meal with together. God is Good!

Apple pie is hands down my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal, although turkey and all the fixings is nice, too. :o)
Thanks for posting your review about this book. It sounds encouraging!
Pumpkin pie is my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal, but the mashed potatoes are just a hair below the pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving would be lost without both of them!!!
My mama's turkey stuffing is my favorite Thanksgiving food. Infact, it's not just my favorite Thanksgiving food, it's my favorite food ever :) Yummy!
Only one...no way...Pecan Pie, green or black olives. ( no one in my family likes them so they can cranberry sauce and Mom always buys me my own jar of green olives!) Mrs H's Sweet Potato wedges.hmmm only one more week and I can have some!
Nadine Meyer
My mom's homemade stuffing...of course, I have to make it now since she no longer can due to Alzheimers. I'm so thankful she wrote her recipe down for me while she still could!
